Terms of Use

Effective September 27, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Hyde ("we", "us") for using the Hyde app and this website. By using Hyde, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Hyde.

Who can use Hyde

You need to be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age in your country if that's higher. If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they agree to these terms for you.

Your account

You sign in with your Apple Account. Keep your device secure, because anyone using it can use Hyde as you. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

Hyde is an AI

Hyde is software, not a person. It can misunderstand you, get facts wrong, or say things with more confidence than it should. Please double-check anything important.

• Hyde isn't a doctor, lawyer, financial adviser or therapist, and it doesn't replace one.
• Don't rely on Hyde in an emergency. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency number.
• Hyde's Feed and web answers come from other websites and may be incomplete or out of date.

Things Hyde does for you

Hyde can add calendar events and reminders, draft emails, and use services you connect, but only when you allow it. Check the details before you approve an action. You're responsible for the actions you approve, including ones you set to "always allow".

Using Hyde fairly

Don't use Hyde to:

• break the law, or harm, harass, threaten or deceive anyone
• create sexual content involving minors, or content that exploits or endangers anyone
• generate spam, malware, or content that infringes someone else's rights
• get around usage limits, access Hyde's server or OpenAI through anything other than the app, or reverse engineer the service

You also agree to follow OpenAI's usage policies, since Hyde runs on OpenAI. We may limit or suspend access if Hyde is being misused.

Your content

What you send to Hyde is yours. You give us permission to process it only as needed to run Hyde, which includes sending it to OpenAI to generate replies. You can use Hyde's replies and the images it makes, but others may get similar results, and you're responsible for how you use them.

Other services

Hyde relies on services we don't control, like OpenAI, Apple, websites it links to, and services you connect. Their own terms and policies apply to them, and we're not responsible for them.

Changes to Hyde

We're always improving Hyde, so features may change or go away. We may set reasonable usage limits to keep Hyde fast and fair for everyone. We may also pause or stop Hyde, and we'll try to give notice if we do.

Disclaimers and liability

Hyde is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we don't make promises about Hyde beyond these terms, including that it will always be available, accurate or error-free, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by relying on Hyde's replies.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law where it applies.

Apple App Store

If you got Hyde from the App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Hyde or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If Hyde fails to meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for Hyde, if any. Apple isn't responsible for handling claims about Hyde, including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you. You confirm you're not in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and aren't on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app. If you keep using Hyde after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
